Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup is Accidentally Vegan!

December 6, 2018   /   byrunningwhilevegan  / Categories :  Food

Mike is not usually one into sweets or dessert, so when he gets a craving, I am all about it! While in the supermarket one night, Mike decided he was in the mood for banana splits, and as a supportive girlfriend, I wanted to make this happen for me us him! I didn’t realize Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup was vegan, as Mike was sure he remembered that from somewhere. So, we did what any vegan in that predicament would do — we frantically searched the internet on our smart phones in the aisle. Once all was confirmed, into the shopping cart it went (along with the ice cream, bananas and my personal favorite, Reddiwip almond milk whip cream)!

I wish I had some good pics of our ice cream sundaes, but they were hot messes. Delicious hot messes!!!! I love finding out foods from my childhood are vegan; sometimes one of the hard parts about going vegan is saying goodbye to foods you’ve enjoyed your whole life and the tastes of home. Honestly, it’s great time to go vegan with new products coming out regularly, they are so much more refined than when I went vegan 12 years ago! And then sometimes it takes a decade to realize some products were vegan all along.

What are some of your accidentally vegan favorites?
