The Vegan Face; Hemp, Coffee, and Skin Care that Won’t Break the Bank!

January 8, 2018   /   byrunningwhilevegan  / Categories :  Uncategorized

I’m not all about running and eating, I’m also about vegan skincare and beauty! LIKE REALLY ABOUT IT! Can we talk about Kat Von D’s line of makeup? Or my fave drugstore collection, Wet’n Wild?! Makeup and skincare is life.

I wanted to take this time to showcase two of my skincare faves. I was not sent them for free to review, they were purchased at face value, because I’m such a big fan. I learned about both of these brands from their products in my Vegan Cuts Beauty subscription box (also not sponsored by them). It all dates back to the 90s, watching Principal Secret infomercials with my mom. By 15, I was hooked on toners, eye creams, serums, day moisturizers and night creams. It all seems to have paid off because no one in the history of my existence has correctly estimated my age. (Though I am incredibly wise beyond my years.)

If you are in the market for some new products, let me blow ya mind!

The Wonder Seed Facial Cream

The Wonder Seed + Wet’n Wild nails!

I have sensitive, combination skin, that leans toward oily. I like lightweight moisturizers and the Wonder Seed delivers! It’s fresh smelling and absorbs instantly. I love it; this is my 3rd or 4th bottle! A little goes a long way, so you can make them last. Unfortunately it doesn’t contain an SPF, but you can’t win ’em all. Because it is so light, if you are headed to an outdoor event, I recommend mixing it with some sunscreen or a tinted moisturizer/BB cream with an SPF.

Athar’a Eye Cream

Just to let you know, I am kind of an eye cream connoisseur! I think it’s important to have a separate cream for the skin around your eyes than your face. Eye creams are a little richer, for your delicate eye area. When funds are tight I will dab extra moisturizer around my eyes, but nothing beats a specialized cream. Most eye creams target fine lines, puffiness and diminish dark circles. Athar’a is my very favorite because of how light it goes on! It never runs into my eyes and I can apply eye makeup soon after. Plus, COFFEE!!! Coffee is fantastic in skin care because it shrinks blood vessels that result in dark circles, contains antioxidants and reduces puffiness! It also smells great!

Big on that DIY life? Here are a couple recipes you can follow to make your own coffee skin care products!

What are some of your fave vegan skin and makeup products? Let me know, I’m always looking for new products to try!
